PrivacySecure

Screen-share WhatsApp Web without leaking your contacts.

A Chromium browser extension that semantically blurs avatars, names, last-message previews, and chat bubbles on web.whatsapp.com. Toggle by category with a hotkey. Hover-peek to read in private, blur again the moment you look away.

What it blurs

Four independent categories. Toggle via the popup, a hotkey, or the desktop app's global shortcut while you're presenting.

Display pictures

Avatars in the sidebar list, chat header, and drawer panels. Default avatars are covered too.

Contact names

Contact and group names everywhere they appear — sidebar rows, conversation header, drawer headers.

Last-message preview

The grey snippet under each contact name on the left. Enabled by default since this leaks the most in a screen share.

Chat messages

All bubbles in the currently-open conversation, including reactions and metadata.

Reveal on hover or click

Pick how you read without disabling blur — adjustable 0-1000 ms delay so a stray mouse-graze never leaks.

Licence-gated

Pairs with the PrivacySecure desktop app via a local WebSocket. Your key never leaves the desktop client.
